In Ethiopia, widows frequently confront significant economic challenges and profound social stigma, making daily survival a struggle. Many find themselves without a source of income, battling to care for their children while bearing the burden of grief and uncertainty. However, amidst these difficulties, a glimmer of hope is beginning to shine.
Life Center has launched a dairy farming initiative in Meki City, Oromia Region, East Shewa Zone, to empower 10 widowed women to rebuild their lives. This program, still in its early stages, is already creating transformation by providing these women not only financial support but also restoring their dignity, strength, and hope. By the grace of God, progress has been made; however, there is still much to do to ensure long-term success.
Through this initiative, these women are being equipped with dairy cows, hands-on training, and business planning support, allowing them to generate sustainable income. But this is more than just a financial opportunity; it is a chance for them to stand tall once more, break free from the chains of despair, and secure a better future for their families. This project directly benefits over 50 family members, providing food security and stability where it was once uncertain.

Dairy Farming Skills
Participants receive practical training in livestock care, including feeding, milking, hygiene, and disease prevention, to ensure the health and productivity of their dairy cows.
Business Development
These widows are gaining knowledge in financial planning, record-keeping, marketing, and establishing local sales channels to build sustainable businesses.
Quality Control and Sustainability
Proper milk handling and hygiene practices are emphasized to maintain high standards, while sustainable farming methods are introduced to ensure long-term success.
Although we are still at the beginning of this journey, we rejoice in what God has already accomplished. The seed of empowerment and transformation has been sown, and with ongoing faith, effort, and support, these women will rise above their challenges. Glory be to God!
