How Child Enrichment works
Child Enrichment isn’t a single intervention. It’s the steady presence that holds a child’s life together from early school all the way to graduation — sometimes higher education, sometimes a launched career, always a self the child gets to keep building.
We provide schooling fees, tutoring for older students, social-worker mentorship, and the “You Matter” curriculum — a program built specifically to rebuild the dignity that hardship strips away. Sponsorship is the most direct way to participate: a monthly commitment that pairs you with a child whose education and growth you make possible.

“You Matter.”
The “You Matter” curriculum is named for the simplest, most radical idea: that a child who has been overlooked, displaced, or counted out should know — and be told, and be shown — that she matters.
The work happens in lessons, in tutoring sessions, in the consistent presence of social workers and mentors. It happens in birthdays remembered and report cards reviewed and questions answered. It is, in the deepest sense, the work of being there.
Children who pass through this program don’t just graduate. They become the kind of adults other children can look to — proof that the long arc bends, and that the years of small consistencies add up to something real.

From sponsored child to clinical pharmacist
Eyerusalem came into LCE’s care as a child. For years she was a sponsored student — school fees paid, tutoring provided, the “You Matter” curriculum part of her week. Sponsors she may have never met made her education possible, one month at a time.
She graduated with a BSc in Clinical Pharmacy from Africa Health College. Her plan now: to use her career to support her mother, and to come back to lift the next generation of LCE students the way someone lifted her.
Sponsorship works because of stories like hers — not in the headline number, but in the years of small steady months that made the headline possible. Every month a child has a sponsor is a month the long arc keeps bending.
